Rapid Prototyping (RP) Technology is originated from the early 1980s with the rapid development and advancement of the Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology that enables the solid models to be manufactured by the layer-by-layer deposition and CNC machining of the modeling materials, it greatly shorten the modeling time and improve the modeling precision.

With the continuous development and improvement of the Rapid Prototyping technology over the past decades, now many Rapid Prototyping processes have been developed, such as Stereolithography (SLA), Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Laminated Object Manufacturing (LOM) and 3D Printing, etc. Now 3D Printing technology is increasingly concerned and valued, particularly in the developed regions such as European and America countries.
